Angela Okorie Shares X-Ray Showing Bullet Fragments Still Lodged in Her Head After 2019 Shooting
Lagos, Nigeria – Popular Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie has stunned fans after revealing that bullet fragments remain lodged in her head, six years after surviving a horrific assassination attempt in 2019.
In a shocking Instagram post, the actress shared X-ray scans showing multiple metallic fragments scattered across her skull, alongside a bold caption:
“2019 almost took my life. Six years later, the bullets are still in my head. Surviving this was God and strength. Don’t let anyone mock your scars.”
Angela said she has endured chronic pain, trauma, and recurring medical procedures since the ambush attack, which took place in Lagos under still-mysterious circumstances.
The Night of the Attack
In December 2019, Angela was reportedly attacked by heavily armed gunmen while returning from a show. Her car was riddled with bullets, and she narrowly survived after undergoing emergency surgery.
At the time, videos of her bloodied face, swollen eye, and surgical staples went viral, sparking massive concern and public sympathy.
“I was shot 10 times. One bullet missed my spine by a fraction. Another is still near my temple,” she said during a 2020 interview.
Living With Pain and Resilience
Despite the trauma, the actress said she has refused to let the attack define her life or silence her creativity.
“I still have pain. I take scans every year. But I will not be broken,” she wrote on Instagram.
“I’m stronger than the bullets they shot me with.”
She also hinted at betrayal by people close to her at the time, calling the attack “not random,” but part of “a setup that didn’t succeed.”
Angela, now also known for her music under the name “Bursty”, said she channels her pain into her songs and performances.
