The 2025 NWFL season officially begins today, with defending champions Edo Queens set to face Abia Angels in the opening match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
In other Group A matches, Nasarawa United will take on Dannaz Ladies at the Lafia City Stadium, while Ekiti Queens will meet Heartland Queens. Confluence Queens will host Remo Stars Ladies at the Ayingba City Stadium.
Meanwhile, in Group B, former NWFL champions Rivers Angels will face Ibom Angels at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Adamawa Queens will play Naija Ratels at the Pantami Township Stadium in Gombe.
Benue Queens will begin their campaign against FC Robo Queens at the Lafia City Stadium, while Bayelsa Queens will square off against Delta Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
At the end of the season, the top three teams from each group will compete in the championship playoffs for the 2025 NWFL title.
