Jurgen Klopp Real Madrid Rumours Denied by Agent:

April 19, 2025 | IDNN Sports Desk

Jurgen Klopp’s agent has firmly denied recent rumours linking the former Liverpool manager to the Real Madrid coaching job, confirming Klopp is “very happy” in his current role as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer. The speculation intensified following Real Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final exit to Arsenal and reports suggesting Carlo Ancelotti may leave the Bernabeu at season’s end.

Klopp, 57, took up the Red Bull role in January, overseeing clubs including RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Bragantino in Brazil. German media had named Klopp among potential candidates to replace Ancelotti, but his agent, Marc Kosicke, told Sky Deutschland that Klopp has no plans to return to coaching soon.

“Jurgen is very happy with his new role with Red Bull. He adds incredible value with his experience, his human quality and his energy.”

RB Leipzig coach Zsolt Low echoed Kosicke’s comments, saying he “could not imagine” Klopp leaving Red Bull for Real Madrid. Low praised Klopp’s leadership and impact, highlighting his ability to unite large groups and bring out the best in people.

“He’s shown that he can bring a club together, a group of 40, 50, 60 people, and take them with him,” Low said. “He adds incredible value with his experience, his human quality and his energy.”

Over a 23-year managerial career at Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool, Klopp has been known for his dedication and for leaving clubs on his own terms—a rarity in football coaching. Low emphasized Klopp’s professionalism: “No matter where he’s been, he’s given 100 percent. Regardless of where he is, he’s stayed and done the job. It’s important to him to make a clean exit.”

Real Madrid Job: Xabi Alonso Emerges as Leading Candidate

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen manager and former Real Madrid player Xabi Alonso is widely regarded as the frontrunner to replace Ancelotti. Alonso recently stated it is “not the time” to discuss his future, but Real Madrid officials are reportedly preparing to pursue him as their next manager.
