Tinubu’s Eid Message: “Nigeria’s Toughest Days Are Behind Us”

ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the worst phase of the country’s economic and security challenges is now behind them, declaring that his administration’s reform agenda is beginning to bear fruit.
In his Eid-el-Kabir 2025 message, released through the State House and delivered from his private residence in Lagos, Tinubu emphasized national unity, sacrifice, and hope—while extending heartfelt condolences to families affected by recent natural disasters, including the devastating Mokwa flood in Niger State.
“The toughest times are giving way to brighter days,” Tinubu said.
“Our economy is turning the corner. And while we still feel the weight of sacrifice, we are already seeing the first signs of renewal.”
A CALL TO SACRIFICE—AND A PROMISE OF RENEWAL
The President used the symbolism of Eid-el-Kabir—the Islamic festival of sacrifice—to underline the role every Nigerian is playing in building the future.
He compared the temporary hardship under fuel subsidy removal, currency reform, and market realignment to “a path of sacrifice that leads to stability.”
“Our sacrifices are not in vain,” Tinubu said.
“Our reforms are difficult but necessary. And they are working.”

Tinubu paid special tribute to victims of flooding in Niger, Benue, and Bayelsa, assuring that emergency responses are underway.
“As we celebrate this holy season, let us also remember the afflicted,” he said.
“Let us offer not just prayers, but action — as neighbors, as a government, and as one Nigeria.”
He urged Nigerians to use Eid as a time to deepen unity and patience.
