Fayose Endorses APC Governor, Brother Slams Him

“If you’re done with PDP, say so. But don’t straddle the fence while tearing down the house you once lived in.”

‘Leave PDP Instead of Ridiculing Yourself’ – Fayose’s Brother Blasts Ex-Governor for Endorsing APC

ADO-EKITI —
The Fayose family drama has exploded into public view — and it’s not subtle.

Emmanuel Fayose, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful in Ekiti State, has come out swinging against his older brother and political titan, former Governor Ayodele Fayose, for openly endorsing the APC and Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

“Leave the PDP instead of ridiculing yourself in public,” Emmanuel declared, calling his brother’s actions a “show of shame.”

In a statement issued Thursday in Ado Ekiti, the younger Fayose blasted his brother’s participation in a recent pro-APC rally, where Ayodele, decked in a PDP-branded fez cap, praised both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji — urging them to pursue second terms.

The optics? Brutal. The fallout? Immediate.

🧨 Fayose APC Endorsement Sparks Intra-Family Political Firestorm

At the core of Emmanuel’s outrage is what he described as a total betrayal of the PDP, the party that twice propelled Ayodele Fayose into the Ekiti governor’s seat.

“He governed this state twice under PDP. Now he’s promoting the same APC we’ve fought against. What kind of legacy is that?” Emmanuel asked.

“If you have nothing to contribute to the repositioning of this party, walk away.”

Emmanuel Fayose has rejected his brother’s Ayodele Fayose’s open support for APC’s Oyebanji.

He described the rally as “an underwhelming carnival” that couldn’t pull even 10,000 real supporters in a state of over three million people.

“Ayo’s presence didn’t even shift the crowd. People are tired of the APC government. That rally was just noise and optics.”

INEC Violations?

Beyond the family fallout, Emmanuel Fayose alleged that the APC rally breached electoral campaign regulations laid out by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He urged the Commission to sanction the event, citing premature campaigning ahead of the 2026 elections.

“No individual or party should be above the law. INEC must act,” he insisted.

 The Bigger PDP Picture

This Fayose APC endorsement cuts deep within PDP ranks — not just as a family spat, but as another glaring signal of disarray within opposition ranks.

While Ayodele Fayose retains significant influence in Ekiti politics, his vocal support for Tinubu and Oyebanji may be the final nail in his PDP coffin — unless he formally defects.

For now, Emmanuel has drawn the line.

“If you’re done with PDP, say so. But don’t straddle the fence while tearing down the house you once lived in.”
